Meet Alejandra Pérez

Alejandra currently serves as HDF’s Director of Scholarship Program. She holds a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary studies. Her career in higher education has been centered in academic advising and retention services at two- and four-year institutions. Having navigated the higher education system as a first-generation, undocumented student, with ADA accommodations, she has a deep understanding of the barriers our community faces pursuing their academic goals and more importantly, how to overcome these challenges. Alex also serves as an advisor to HDF's Scholar Advisory Board, where she advocates for scholars' ideas and visions for HDF. She values getting to share these ideas with stakeholders who wish to support the scholarship program whether through a grant or the Named Scholarship Program.

Through HDF’s Named Scholarship Program, Alejandra, along with her siblings, have started their own scholarship honoring their immigrant parents. Outside of HDF, you can find Alejandra with her husband Ray and their dog Jacinto, traveling, hiking, gardening, thrifting, or jamming out at a concert.
